“You decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.” —Gianni Versace
Paulette DeLoma might not express her guide for life the way others see her work.
She makes blankets. For many years Paulette has made receiving blankets for the new infants in the new borne nursery at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. More recently, these contributions to the warmth and security of infants are going to the Tacoma Rescue Mission.
Her own personal witness is centered on clothing. Every week she works at the clothing bank at Manitou Park Presbyterian Church. She sorts and prepares remaining clothing which goes to the Rescue Mission.
And if everyday comfort and presentation wasn’t enough, Paulette also has a flair for the special and memorable. Of particular note are prom gowns which she repairs and decorates for those at Mt. Tahoma High School.
The Kiwanis Club of Tacoma honors Paulette DeLoma with its Everyday Heroine Award as she works to serve the children in our community.
