The Kiwanis Children’s Fund has awarded the Kiwanis Club of Tacoma a grant in the amount of $18,000. “We are proud to partner with your Kiwanis club and extend your Kiwanis impact though the Homeless Kids playlot project,” wrote Jaime Fluker, Program Specialist with the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. The work of the Children’s Fund helps Kiwanians change kids’ lives—often in ways that would otherwise remain beyond the resources of clubs and districts.
The Kiwanis Club of Tacoma has committed to building a playlot for the children of the Tacoma Rescue Mission’s Adams Street Family Campus. The Adams Street Family Campus provides emergency shelter for single women and families with children, in apartment style housing.
“Partnerships like this give us a small glimpse of the kind of abundance that God surprises us with. We are so grateful for groups like the Kiwanis Club of Tacoma who have a multiplying effect that make real change possible,” says the Tacoma Rescue Mission’s representative.
