Prominent in the news is the effects of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 and communities’ reactions to it.
Although there have been no significant community impacts here yet, it is prudent for your Kiwanis Club to plan to comply with official directives enabling the support of public health and the safety of our members.
Therefore, the Kiwanis Club of Tacoma will monitor official directives for COVID-19 and comply as required. If measures are directed to the assembly of small groups, our members will be notified of any cancellations as well as their planned resumptions. Email will be the medium of choice.
Our community and our club are familiar with such occurrences. Our club was formed during the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918, when the whole City of Tacoma was quarantined. Just as our forebears were successful in meeting their challenge, so will us.
Best wishes for your good health,Gary Brackett, Pres.Kiwanis Club of Tacoma
